"Have I mentioned how much I like that dress?" Jaime asked with a grin as he held the door open for Momoko. Because he did. Not that he didn't like Momoko in lots of things, but some dresses just... really worked for her.

"Also, I hope this place is good. I mean, the reviews say it is, but I haven't been here before."

He took a moment to exchange a few words with the hostess about their reservation.

"But if they aren't the best Italian place you've been to this year, don't blame me, okay?"

"Hey, nothing I've ever said has kept you from cheating." She'd used the Eyes on him just the other day! "So no complaining."

"That's because the rule is for you, and specifically for tonight."

...

"Also, I totally don't cheat. I strategize."

"You do know that just calling it that doesn't mean you're not cheating, right?"

[heromaniac]

"No."

[weldedtomyspine]

"Oh. You didn't know? Well, it's simple if you want me to explain it to you."

"Again."

[heromaniac]

"Mmm. Please do." Momoko set her silverware down and folded her hands under her chin, giving him her full attention.

Or at least she was giving his lips her full attention.

Totally strategizing cheating listening, Jaime.

Jaime heaved a sigh. "Okay. So the first lesson is the most important one. Can you at least promise to follow the most important rule?"

"Jaime," Momoko purred gently. "You know I'll do anything you ask me to. Anything. For you."

It was hard to keep his concentration when she did that. And she knew it.

Cheater!

That was okay, though. Jaime was managing to hold out for now.

"Anything?" He smiled. "Good. I'm glad. Because I'm going to need you to give me your dessert."

Her eyebrow did twitch. She would give him that.

But she would win!

"Ooooooh. Do you want me to feed it to you, then? Bite..." Momoko gave the air a small nip. "by... bite?"

Gulp.

Not that he would let that stop him in his tracks. He just... needed a couple of seconds to catch his breath, you know?

"Oh. Would you? That'd be soooo helpful."

"Helpful? Hmm. Is that all?"

[weldedtomyspine]

"Um, yep? That's all."

Uh huh. Sure it was, Jaime.

"Mmmm. Well, I do like to be helpful," Momoko let herself sag as if saddened by that answer, though the twinkle in her eyes gave away that she was still totally teasing.

Jaime snorted. "Then does that mean you want to give me all your desserts for the rest of the month?"

She had to laugh at that. Sorry teasing mood!

"And how exactly would that be helpful? I'm totally sure you don't want to deal me a me that hasn't had any dessert for a month. You remember the week I went on that diet, right?"

"I don't know." Jaime grinned. "Depends on if my lips are the only source of sugar for you."

[heromaniac]

"Hmm. But it takes a lot of sugar to satisfy me..."

"That's why I'm eating so many desserts."

Duh.

"Do I get to kiss you after each bite, then?"

That was tempting.

"Well, I hadn't planned on it, but I suspect we could... work something out."

Aaaaand something occurred to her with that. "Ah! Actually. Can we? I mean..." She turned a slight pink. "I was looking forward to tonight... but now that you've said that about Elena, do you think we should sleep together?"

Jaime deflated slightly and sighed.

"Probably not the best idea," he admitted.

"But it's our first Valentine's." Momoko's wibble was real and unintentional.

"Yeah." Another sigh.

"Maybe we can come up with another way to make it super-memorable?"
