Jaime and Momoko's Room at the Arms Hotel, Saturday Morning

Jaime felt himself waking up slowly, and slowly extended his arms in a sleepy stretch without opening his eyes. Maybe he could work that kink out of his elbow before the day got started. He was halfway through the careful movement when two things struck him.

First, this was not his bed. Two pillows instead of one, a slightly-too-soft mattress. Oh, and the sheets were too nice. Second? He was not alone in bed. It wasn't that that never happened, but this weekend his wife was on duty at the cave, so...

He turned his head slowly and opened his eyes. Momoko lay there with her back to him, breathing the slow, regular breaths of sleep. Jaime was pretty sure that she wasn't supposed to be there, but he wasn't complaining. In fact, he was reaching out to brush a thick strand of red hair away from her neck so that he could lean over there and gently nuzzle her bare skin.

The team hadn't gotten back from rescuing Mia until late and then Momoko had spent time in the infirmary with the poor girl... and trying to keep Keshon calm about it.

So her beloved would please forgive her if she grumbled a little at being asked to wake by anything other than the siren?

Oh, she didn't have to wake up. Jaime knew that exhausted, complaining sound. So he just gently drew a finger down her arm, just enjoying the closeness even as he looked around in an attempt to determine where they were.

What they were doing wherever it was could be a follow-up question.

The touching had Momoko moving closer, despite still being asleep. Her expression smoothed out and the grumbling settled into almost a sigh.

She was still rather unbearably cute when she was asleep, and Jaime smiled as he realized that they were in the Arms Hotel on Fandom Island. He quirked an eyebrow and carefully extracted himself from the sheets, trying not to wake Momoko up.

He walked over to the window, pulling the curtains back just enough to take a look outside in case there were any clues as to what was going on.

As much as she hadn't expected there to be anyone else in her bed, the sudden lack of that someone had Momoko blinking awake. "Wha?"

This... wasn't her room at the Cave. She stilled and her mind started whirring. It had been a while since she'd been kidnapped! Was this retaliation for rescuing Mia or something new?

"Sorry," a soft voice spoke from the window. "Didn't mean to wake you."

[heromaniac]

"Jaime?!" It only took a second to place the voice because he wasn't supposed to be there. Well, actually, she wasn't supposed to be here either. Yay they were kidnapped together? "Where are we?"

She sat up, amused to find herself in an old t-shirt instead of her usual on-duty night attire... "Ah! I'm me?"

"Fandom," he said. Which was both an answer to her question, and something of an explanation.

"Doesn't look like there's an emergency or anything, either."

Momoko flopped back down. "Fandom," she sighed in relief, then rolled over to look for her Power Compact. "That totally makes sense. Did you un-transform me or has the island gotten smarter over the years?"

"Wasn't me," Jaime said, shaking his head. "So I'm totally going to blame the island."

He just enjoyed looking at her for a few seconds, then let out a sigh. "You need to check in?" he asked reluctantly. Because if she did, she might have to leave.

"It is my shift to be supermom, remember?" Ah. There was her Compact. She flipped it open and dialed. "Besides, Mia's grandfather got her day before yesterday and we just got her back. She's in really bad shape and poor Keshon... Ah! Hello?"

Jaime nodded. He understood, but that didn't mean he wanted to interrupt this nice, quiet morning.

But, well, duty called.

"Are you sure? But I thought that I was... the whole weekend?" Momoko was sitting up in bed again, utterly amazed at what she was hearing. "No no no no no! Totally not complaining! Okay. Thank you! And don't over feed Porky; the vet says he needs to diet."

A little more detail-sharing, then she closed her Compact and gaped up at Jaime. "I got the weekend off!"

"What?" Jaime was blinking. Unplanned weekends off didn't really happen with them.

"How?"

[heromaniac]

"The new guy that's taking the fourth shift. He's apparently from a planet where time runs different. He arrived early. Misfit says she'll swap shifts with me and train him, since her shift starts Monday anyway."

A slow grin spread across her face.

"I've got a whole weekend off!!"

"The whole weekend, hmm?" Jaime said, voice slow and warm. "With nowhere we have to be?"

[heromaniac]

"My next trip for Oracle isn't until next month, and the office wasn't expecting me in anyway..." Her grin turned a little smirky. "You're not on call either, right?"

[weldedtomyspine]

"Noooope," Jaime drawled, sauntering back toward Momoko with a lazy smile. "Not me."

[heromaniac]

Momoko loved that smile. Oh, how much she loved that smile.

"Think we'll get in trouble if we don't rush back home? I mean, the island was nice enough to bring us here and we apparently have a room."

[weldedtomyspine]

"Actually," Jaime said thoughtfully, "I believe that you will get in trouble with me if you try to leave before lunch."

[heromaniac]

"Oh? And what exactly would that trouble entail?"

[weldedtomyspine]

"Well," Jaime said, getting into her personal space and leaning forward. His eyes were laughing. "Maybe I'd have to tie you up or something. Not let you leave the room."

[heromaniac]

Momoko didn't back away, though her heart did trip a little. "Your plan intrigues me. Tell me more."

[weldedtomyspine]

"See, we don't have anywhere to be," Jaime said with a slow grin. "And there's a nice, big bed. And I bet I can find something to use," his eyes darted to the side, looking around the room real quick before turning back to Momoko, "to keep you from getting out of it."

"That plan sounds so simple, it just might work." Momoko raised an eyebrow. "But don't you worry that I'd get bored in this big bed all by myself?"
