Momoko's Apartment, El Paso, Texas, Tuesday Night

Jaime finished the last bite of fish and leaned back in his chair with a satisfied sigh. "That was pretty good," he told his dinner companion with a smile. "I didn't know you could fry fish so well." Not to mention the salad. Which hadn't been anything special, but had been very nice.

He took a moment to just appreciate it, then looked across the table. "So... you want dessert now, or do you need to digest first?" He'd brought a cake. Too big for two people, honestly, but he rather suspected that, given Momoko, that wouldn't really be a problem. Either they'd eat it all tonight, or she'd have some for later.

"I'm trying to tell it to you," no he wasn't, "but you keep giggling!" That part was true, at least.

[heromaniac]

"You're making me!" She protested... barely. "I'm just trying to eat cake and listen to you talk."

[weldedtomyspine]

"And criticizing my storytelling," Jaime pointed out. While continuing to poke her. "And giggling!"

"Not...!" Okay, that last one hit her funny spot and she doubled over against him, finally, laughing... and dropping her cake.

For a moment, Jaime was kind of horrified by how she might react to that, but she was just too adorable with that expression on her face, so he gave up on pretending to be doing anything else but diving directly on her and tickling her with both hands.

"Nooooo! Aaaahhahhahaha Not....... ahahaha... Fai ahahaha!"

"What?" Jaime asked, starting to laugh himself as he overbalanced and sent both of them tumbling to the floor. "What did you say?"

He was totally not going to stop tickling her.

"Caaaaake!" She couldn't breathe Jaime!

"No cake?" Jaime repeated, a bit breathless himself with the effort of continuing to tickle her.

[heromaniac]

"Noooo!" She took advantage of his breathlessness to take a chance to breathe herself and pushed at his hands. "Jaime!"

Jaime's weight moved back as she pushed at him, but then came forward again as he leaned in. His hands landed on either side of Momoko, and he caught himself just a few inches away from her. "Yes?" he asked, still slightly breathless.

Oooh. Momoko liked this. So much s that it took a moment before she could say anything.

"I need more cake?"

He stared down at her, thinking about that for a long couple of silent seconds, only the sound of their breathing filling the room.

"Does that mean you want me to get up?"

[heromaniac]

No.

"I do like sweets."

[weldedtomyspine]

Jaime slowly lowered himself down to kiss her. Soft, slow, the flavor of whipped cream still on her lips.

Momoko's arms changed from pushing him away to curling into his shirt so he would stay. She totally didn't mind this method of taking her breath away.

Not that she was going to stop to tell him.

Good. Because Jaime didn't want to. In fact, he wanted to lean in even closer. He was even tempted to take his weight off of his hands so that he could do something else with them... After all, Momoko had such lovely hair for running fingers through.

Momoko made a soft but obviously pleased sound, her hands slowly moving around him.

Jaime just gave up, collapsing onto one side next to Momoko, trapping one of her arms beneath him as he pulled her against him.

Momoko didn't mind the arm being trapped; she'd missed this part of being with him... Not that she was going to admit it, except to try to tighten her hold on him.

A small hint of laughter went through her as a small flickering memory of their first kiss came to mind.

Jaime finally came up for air, then leaned back just a bit, eyeing that laugh. "Was I doing that bad a job?" he asked, half-teasing, half worried.

[heromaniac]

"Never." She leaned in, following him, to plant a brief smiling kiss on his lips. "Just thinking about how I've loved your kisses since the first one. And how that kiss was a Christmas kiss, too." A stolen one, no less.

That drew a grin from him. "You don't forget anything, do you?"

[heromaniac]

"It was the first time I got to kiss you! I'd wanted to for a long time, remember? I totally remember that." She was a romantic, Jaime. Better start a diary of events and 'anniversaries'.

"And I remember that I liked it. Very much."

"You did, did you?" Jaime asked, teasingly, clearly baiting for another compliment.
